Weekend in Springfield, MO

Discovery Center, downtown. It was in an old building, a cool way to repurpose the space. We all really thought this was a great museum! Bella thought her hair was a trip!

Coyle dressed as a construction worker using the crane inside the museum.
Bella's souvenir was 7 pairs of Disney princess shoes she found (brand-new) at a resale shop. She had to sleep with them :-) Coyle calls these shoes "high-lift."
On Sunday we rode a jeep through Fantastic Caverns, the only ride-thru cave in N. America. The tour was 50 minutes long, and we heard not a peep of displeasure from either kid. They loved it (so did Clay and I). After, we hiked on some trails around the caverns down to a cool rock bluff and spring.

We spent last weekend in Springfield, MO, one of our favorite towns. It was an impulsive getaway, and everyone had a blast! We had lots of fun swimming at the hotel, seeing the sights at Bass Pro and eating our favorite Springfield foods (cashew chicken and McSalty's pizza).

Bella's Spa Day

Bella has been doing a great job of potty training, and she has been begging for a "haircut" with "pink shampoo" and put "butterflies in her hair." So we took her to Sweet N Sassy in West Co Mall. She chose Cotton Candy shampoo and got her hair trimmed. They fixed her hair in a fancy updo with glitter in her hair, a glitter heart face decoration and a flower bow in her hair! She was in heaven! We called it her day at the spa. :-)

4th of July

Coyle couldn't wait to leave for Grandpa and Nana's house. This is how Coyle greeted Clay when he came home from school. He was really ready to go!Riding a little train at the carnival.

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Hannibal celebrating with Clay's family! The kids had a lot fun swimming and riding the carnival rides (even in the extreme heat).

10th Anniversary

Outside our house getting ready to leave for dinner.

The outside of my jewelry cabinet.

For our 10th anniversary Clay bought an antique sewing machine from 1900 in the Eastlake style, removed the sewing machine, etc...from the inside and built in a shelf, drawer, etc... to make it a one of a kind jewelry cabinet. I love it! What a neat surpise! Inside I found a Lois Hill necklace and earrings (love that designer!!). We had dinner at Cafe Provencal in Kirkwood (the restaurant we went to after getting engaged 10 1/2 years ago and then went to a fantastic concert at Off Broadway by Haley Bonner and Daniel Martin Moore. This was all a surprise for me!

Father's Day

For Father's Day, we rented a pedal boat in Forest Park. It was so much fun! The kids absolutely loved it! We saw lots of ducks and even a turtle. The view from the Grand Basin was just gorgeous!
